I like most other women began to freak out about getting older. I decided it was a good time to try some preventative anti-ageing treatments with my skin. I started to notice my skin looking rather dull and congested along with breakouts some fine lines. I did some research and came across the (PRP) treatment A.K.A the vampire facial. Considered to be one of the most natural and safest ways to rejuvenate the skin. The vampire facelift involves using the patient’s own blood (taken from their arm, prior to the treatment). Patients platelets are separated from their blood. Rich in stem cells the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) stimulates collagen through tiny needle incisions. This improves skin texture, reduces fine lines, wrinkles whilst leaving your face re-plumped and radiant.
The treatment looks a lot more invasive on camera than what it is in reality. It starts with the micro-needling followed by the PRP being injected into the desired areas of concern. Mildly uncomfortable, but not painful. The treatment in total took over an hour and a half. Immediately after the treatment you’ll be very red and have a sunburnt look, this lasted until the next day for me but I was able to cover it with some Bare Minerals powder.
My face instantly felt fuller and plumper. After around 4 weeks I really started to notice my complexion becoming brighter and clearer. But it was after 7 weeks when I really started to see the results. I had some fine lines and expressions lines on my forehead that appeared visibly reduced with an evener complexion and skin tone. Overall I am really happy with the results and I’ve seen a vast improvement in my skin. I still have the odd hormonal breakout at certain times of the month, but still feel like it has improved much more.
Botox, you may wonder why I didn’t opt for botox. Let me go through some of the main reasons why. Botox may seem like it’s been around forever but it’s actually only been around roughly 16 years. I try to be as mindful possible in what I eat and what I used cosmetic wise in terms of chemical etc. I am not judging anyone who has or wants to get it, but for me, I don’t feel comfortable having a chemical that hasn’t been around that long into my face. That’s primarily why I decided to go for the Vampire facial because it uses your own stem cells to regenerate collagen and for me, that was the biggest deciding factor in comparison to Botox. I wanted to try a more natural approach in my quest for anti ageing.
I had my treatment done by Nicola in renew skin clinic, Nicola is a straight-talking professional who will honestly recommend the best options for your skin and the results you desire.
