So Last weekend I went on a little trip to London to visit my friends that I met whilst traveling Australia. We generally do two trips away a year and this time round we decided to meet in London for Georgie’s Birthday. London London, I’ve always lusted after London. Since about the age of thirteen it’s always being my dream to live there! I am such a city girl at heart, whilst some find cities hectic and lonely, those are probably two of things I generally really like about them. I enjoy the anonymity, the busy lifestyle and the diverse culture. I also thoroughly appreciate the fact that you could dress up as a unicorn and no one would bat an eyelid. But the thing I love the most about London has to be the fashion.
I mean, have you seen the size of Topshop on Oxford street? or the mammoth sized Penny’s? It’s enough to make any fashion loving gal up sticks and move right away. London like most other cities has it’s own unique style. Some would argue it sets the bar for both street and catwalk style. I always find my favorite Pinterest fashion looks are shot by Londoners, hence why in my opinion London leads the way in all fashion stakes.
The next thing I admire is the architecture, if you’ve read some my blogs before you’ll know I am always banging on about the bloody architecture. Boring I know, but I just enjoy going to cities, seeing the beautiful buildings and trying to understand the essence of the place. I would happily wander around aimlessly getting lost in any city accompanied by a large mocha of course.
Next on the list is the food, London is a mecca for extraordinary gastronomic restaurants. We went to an amazing Tapas bar called Barrafina in Convent Garden. The food was nothing short of perfection, we had an array of Spanish contemporary style tapas. Of course our eyes were too big for our bellies and of course we ordered way too much. Shorty afterwards we hit some really great bars. On Saturday we went a bottomless prosecco brunch in B&H Buildings. Yep you heard that right BOTTOMLESS prosecco Bellini’s. We had a fabulous time chatting, catching up and getting our money’s worth “when in Rome, do as the Romans do”.
Of course afterwards we hit a nice little sports bar in Angel and had a few more G&T’s. That night I believe we ended up in some venue Brixton, we spent the night drinking and dancing away. Next day we hit the pub again and yes I do realize how this is coming across, but we were having such a great time catching up that we didn’t really care about not getting as much shopping or sight seeing done.
Anyways after having such an amazing weekend with the girls and after some careful deliberation. I think I will be making my dream of living in London come through very soon WATCH THIS SPACE!
